Evidence of Teaching Competencies

Feedback from Colleagues

The University of Texas School of Public Health

I served as a contract instructional designer in the School of Public Health working with Faculty in the Epidemiology and Biostatistics department.  For the 22 months of my project, I was also on the CEPH Accreditation Committee as the school went through the rigorous accreditation process. CEPH is the Council on Education for Public Health.  This allowed me to have an overview of the University academic processes, as well as being in the details of course creation for Introductory and Intermediate Biostatistics to accommodate the needs of accreditation.  I have learned many details of the presentation of materials through the learning management system, Canvas, as the University presented their first Online MPH in Fall of 2019.  Until June of 2019, I was the only Instructional Designer working for the school. The goal of the University was to bring on two full-time instructional designers, for which I did not apply.  My contract ended in December of 2019, and I am very appreciative of the behind-the-scenes experience.
